When Founders Simon and Natalie Thomas moved from the UK to Sydney, they saw an opportunity to connect people to life’s authentic and simplest of pleasures: homemade, hand prepared food and the ceremony of slowing down to take in our beautiful city and share food and time with others.
Armed with experience gained at his family’s wine bar in Stratford upon Avon, and here with renowned providores Simon Johnson, Simon began experimenting with portable gourmet menus. At the same time, Natalie used her years of experience with leading creative agencies to handcraft the exquisite presentation of Simon’s menus, creating experiences that are as delicious as they are individual.
Since establishing the Sydney Picnic Co. in 2008, Simon and Natalie’s picnics have been at the centre of hundreds of moments that created lifetime memories filled with joy. Thanks to Simon’s unwavering philosophy of creating quality food that’s fresh, simple and above all pleasurable, Sydney Picnic Co. will soon spread joy across the portable food, travel and accommodation sectors.
